Pas Perdus

North American Premiere!

Belgium

“Strange, inventive, full of surprises.”- Le Soir, Belgium

These four amusingly befuddled, delightfully demented, archaically stylish, clown/acrobat/musician/jugglers, Festival favorites in 2002 (Zouff!), are back with an all-new show that blends slapstick, circus-theatre, music, tenderness and carpentry! The comedic traditions of Chaplin, Keaton and Jaques Tati meld with expert circus skills and musical chops, resulting in a don’t-miss performance of European circus-theatre at its most refined, sometimes absurd, and completely unpredictable.

The four members of Les Argonautes are alumni of, and now sometimes teachers at, the prestigious l’Ecole de Cirque de Bruxelles. They have established themselves as one of the premiere emerging circus theatre companies in all of Europe. They have only played the United States twice; both times at Giant Magnet. Giant Magnet is proud of a tradition of seeking out the newest circus theatre companies in the world and presenting them for the first time to U.S. audiences. This unique tradition in presenting includes Cirque Eloise, Cirque Eos and Les Parfaits Inconnus from Quebec, C!RCA from Australia, and OKidOK from Belgium. In fact, the hilarious and successful 2006 production of “HaHaHa” by OkidOK was directed by the same man who directed “ZOUFF!” and “Pas Perdus”, Louis Spagna. Spangna was a successful musician, actor and accordion player in European circus theatre before focusing on directing. His imprint on contemporary circus theatre has become quite renowned.

Producing Director Brian Faker first saw "Pas Perdus" at Herfsfestival 2007; an international festival of circus theatre in Dommelhof, Belgium. The show recently wowed audiences at France’s prestigious Avignon Off Festival.
